Carlos is an executive search with experience in the Technology & Industrial Sector, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Diversity and Inclusion.
Carlos Garcia is partner-in-charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Los Angeles office and global managing partner of the Supply Chain & Operations Officers Practice. He actively recruits senior executives across all industry sectors, and has experience conducting CEO and board searches where supply chain & operations expertise is paramount. He has lead search engagements for clients in life sciences, healthcare, consumer markets, high tech, distribution, and diversified manufacturing.
With more than 35 years as a functional specialist in supply chain & operations, Carlos began his career in line management, progressing through operations strategy consulting, and has been in retained executive search for senior leaders in sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, quality, logistics, distribution, customer service, and integrated supply chain roles since 2004.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Carlos was at another leading executive search firm. Before that, he worked at Booz & Co for eleven years in the operations and manufacturing strategy group, leading business transformation programs across the Americas and in Europe. Earlier, he was in key production management and strategic planning roles at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
Carlos has lived and worked in the US, Europe, and Latin America. Reflecting his multinational experience and multicultural effectiveness, Carlos has led international search engagements for exceptional leaders in the world’s increasingly complex and dynamic global supply chains. He is fluent in Spanish and English, and conversational in French.
Carlos is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services. He is a member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) as well as the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).Education:
Carlos earned a master of business administration from Columbia University, where he completed a triple concentration in operations management, marketing, and management of organizations. He also earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Haverford College. He was awarded the McKim Fellowship (two years) at the Columbia Business School.
