Timothy L Holt Jr is a partner in the Heidrick & Struggles New York office and a member of the Chief Executive Officer & Board of Directors and global Financial Services practices. Tim’s current focus is on board and c-suite work for clients across a wide range of financial service sectors and increasingly for entities at the intersection of the public, private, and social sectors. He serves as lead partner for a number of the firm’s longstanding and emerging key clients and co-chairs the firm’s Americas Diversity Council.

Tim’s expertise includes c-suite and board director search and advisory, succession planning, executive assessment, team effectiveness, and culture shaping. His early experience at Heidrick & Struggles focused on issues in critical enterprise-wide areas such as audit, compliance, control, finance, legal, operations, and risk management. Tim has worked extensively with community banks, regional banks, global SiFis, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, NGOs, GSEs, government agencies, and non-profits.

During his 15+ years with the firm, Tim has served in a number of leadership roles including as managing partner of the financial services practice for the Americas, as managing partner of the US Northeast Region complex, as managing partner of the Consumer & Commercial Financial Services sector, as managing partner of two of the firm’s largest and top-performing offices, and as a member of the global Consultant Promotions Committee.

Tim has more than 18 years of human capital advisory experience. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles he was a New York-based recruiter with another major executive search firm, where he focused on capital markets, investment banking, structured finance, and private equity.Education:

Tim’s earlier career included client-facing and managerial roles with Lexis-Nexis, Rand McNally, and Gulf States Paper Corporation. He spent his formative years in central Kentucky and earned his bachelor’s degree in history, held elected roles in student government, and was a two-sport varsity athlete at Centre College of Kentucky.
