His work has included searches for senior leadership positions within prominent higher education institutions, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, global NGOs, arts and cultural entities, foundations, and associations and membership societies. He has conducted searches for a wide range of functional leadership roles, such as president, CEO, executive director, provost, vice provost for research, academic and administrative deans, chief development and advancement officer, chief marketing and/or communications officer, COO, and CFO.

Gongon’s client list includes Harvard University, Dartmouth College, Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Yale University, Georgetown University, Virginia Tech, the University of Oregon, the Rhode Island School of Design, Union Theological Seminary, the Smithsonian Institution, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Public Radio International, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, The Trevor Project, The Public Theater, and the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, among many others.

Before joining Diversified Search, Gongon worked for 12 years for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In respective roles, he led government affairs and community and economic development initiatives on behalf of the archdiocese and community at large. His community service has included terms as Vice President of the Board of Directors of FINANTA, a nonprofit lender promoting growth and economic expansion of Philadelphia communities, and as an advisory board member to a Philadelphia community center.
