Luis DeAnda is a partner based in Heidrick & Struggles’ Los Angeles office. He is a member of the Consumer Markets Practice servicing branded consumer-centric companies across technology products and services, entertainment, automotive, apparel, hospitality, and packaged goods sectors. His area of search focus is on CEO, president, marketing and digital officer, and general manager roles. He is also part of the Global Digital Practice.
Luis has more than 20 years of global experience in the advertising and marketing industry, with 10 years spent in Asia Pacific. He has been at the forefront of digital transformation. He has helped companies and brands stay relevant and connected to customers through his expertise in the convergence of marketing, media, technology, and entertainment.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Luis was the president and CEO of TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles where he was responsible for revitalizing the agency’s strategic vision, as well as leading the organization through cultural transformation and restructuring. His career with the TBWA network spanned more than 14 years, including three years as chief operating officer of its Tokyo office. During that time, he also established and led new offices for Media Arts Lab, the bespoke advertising agency for Apple, in Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul, and Sydney, and continued to lead all international efforts as managing director when he returned to Los Angeles.
Throughout his career Luis has partnered closely with CMOs and marketing teams to generate consumer-centric omnichannel campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world. Luis earned his bachelor of science degree in advertising from San Jose State University where he graduated cum laude. He also speaks Japanese.
