German has more than 20 years of technology industry experience with global corporations, as well as in high-growth and high-risk markets. He has strong government relations expertise at both the local and federal level. German previously led the Mexico City office.

Technology industry leader and government adviser

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart as an executive recruiter, German was an independent consultant advising companies and government institutions in Latin America on technology implementation. He served as an adviser on education platforms to the Minister of Telecommunications and Technology Information in Colombia, and helped develop Colombia’s IT strategy, Vive Digital 2.0.
  • Earlier, German held various leadership roles with Freescale Semiconductor, formerly a division of Motorola, culminating as director of sales for Latin America and country manager for Mexico.
  • He began his career with the San Diego-based consultancy group of SAIC (Science Application International Corporation), a leading technology services government contractor in Colombia and Venezuela.

While living in Guadalajara, Mexico, German was a board member of Opportunidad Microfinanzas, a microfinance lender, and also served as the vice president of High Tech for Healthcare, an initiative of CANIETI, the national chamber of electronics telecommunications and IT in Mexico. German earned an M.B.A. with an emphasis in international commerce from Instituto de Empresa and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Universidad Javeriana. He is fluent in Spanish and English and literate in Portuguese.
