Cheryl Stokes is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Philadelphia office and a member of Heidrick Consulting. For more than 20 years, she has helped leaders effectively address challenges in the global business environment, leading businesses to develop the leadership system and the organizational capabilities needed to execute their strategies.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Cheryl served as regional managing director for Duke Corporate Education’s European operations, where she set the strategic direction, managing business growth and profitability, building brand awareness, and developing the organization’s capability to execute its strategy. Under her leadership, the region enjoyed its strongest growth and profitability in Duke CE history.
In her previous role as executive director at Duke CE, Cheryl designed and delivered programs with clients from numerous industries, including professional services, energy and mining, transportation, financial services, defense and aerospace, high tech, and others.
Previously, Cheryl was director of organization capability for The Coca-Cola Company, where she worked extensively with both the company and the bottling system across Europe, Russia, Latin America, and the Philippines. Her diverse background also includes work in engineering, metallurgy, quality, and diversity for the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa), and assignments in product engineering and vehicle simulation for General Motors Corporation.Education:
Cheryl holds dual master’s degrees in management and in materials science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from GMI Engineering & Management Institute (formerly General Motors Institute).
